I started babysitting for neighbors and relatives around age 12. I have taken care of my friends children over the last several years, from the time they were born up to the present one is 11 and the funny boy will soon be 8. Then there are 2 other special girls age 6 and age 5. We love to read together and play games. Sometimes the kids will play games or color in the living room while I get dinner together or do the laundry or dishes. I have no problem letting the kids watch TV as long as it isn't anything too off-color or derogatory, and of course, as long as the parent(s) allow. I also worked at a daycare center during the summer of my junior year of high school. The woman who owned the agency is a friend of my mother's and when my mother was a child care teacher at the voc tech she brought her students there for their learning experience. So, most of what I know about child care I learned from my mom, who actually is a teacher. :) In regards to pet care, I personally have always had pets; dogs and cats. I currently have 4 silly cats. I would love to have a dog, but that's not possible right now.
