Dear Family,
My name is Mariel and I've worked as a live-in nanny in Northbrook for the past year and a half. However, I feel it's time to live on my own, so the family and I agreed that even though we love working together our needs aren't the same anymore so I'm looking for a new job.

Dear Family,
My name is Mariel and I've worked as a live-in nanny in Northbrook for the past year and a half. However, I feel it's time to live on my own, so the family and I agreed that even though we love working together our needs aren't the same anymore so I'm looking for a new job.
I started working with them as an Au Pair, an exchange program in which you come from another country and live with a host family to take care of their kids for a year. I have also worked through this program in 2007 in New Jersey and took care of two girls (9 years old and 20 months old) and a boy (7 years old). The older kids went to school, so my main responsibilities were preparing meals, driving to/from school/activities and helping with homework. I spent most of my work hours taking care of their little girl - feeding her, changing diapers, putting her down to naps, bathing her, playing with her and taking her to parks and toddler classes. It was also a part of my job to do the kids' laundry and clean up after them.
Now I also take care of three kids: a girl (11 years old) and two boys (10 and 7 years old). My responsibilities here include waking up the kids in the morning and getting them ready for school, driving them around, fixing meals, supervising homework and playing with them, plus laundry, cleaning up and grocery shopping. For most of my time here the younger boy was in school for only half of the day so we spent a lot more time together planning fun activities and arranging play dates.
I'm extremely responsible, flexible, loving, talkative, mature, patient and fun. I'm a very safe driver with an IL driver's license and a clean record.
Both of the families I've worked for would be happy to talk to you and give you references about me, my work and my driving skills.
To give you a little more information about myself, I am from Brazil and before coming to the United States in 2007, I worked as an assistant in schools with kids from 1 to 5 years old. I then came to the United States and lived in NJ for a year, until my program was over. In 2008 I went back to Brazil and started teaching English to children of all ages, between 1 and 17 years old.
I would love to talk to your family and have the opportunity to learn more about your children and the position. If you're interested, please get back to me and I'll be more than happy to give you further information regarding my experience and answer any questions you might have.
My Best Regards,
Mariel
