I was raised in a family of 12 siblings. We spent weekends at our grandparents homes. I have raised a family of my own and instilled in them the importance and value of family time.

While residing in the state of California I owned and managed a licensed day care service for 2 years. I provided 24-hour care in my home and taught all those in my care the importance of good manners, sharing, playing fair and looking after one another. We planned many day trips to the zoo and Sea World. Children were assisted with homework assignments when they arrived after school and the younger ones learned the alphabet and basic writing and reading skills prior to entry in school. The youngest child in my care, a newborn only hours old as the mom had to work, dad got nervous.

I have two grand children that live close by (ages 9 months old and 4 years old) and have been very active in their care when emergencies arise as well as for taking time to entertain and assist as needed. I have assisted in potty training and personal hygiene.

Accidents happen, and these usually do, my grand daughter has learned that a spilled glass of milk is no big thing, that's why we have paper towels.
