Maria worked for us for roughly a year. She genuinely loved our kids and was never late. We compensated her above the pay range most nanny/housekeepers make. This is the reason I am giving her two stars. With that said, her sudden departure was unexpected and unprofessional. We treated her very kindly and accommodated her personal challenges. She served as a nanny and housekeeper. When she first started she was very accommodating but as time progressed she had challenges with the job. She spoke about her previous employers frequently, her "flexible schedule" was not so flexible (unlike originally discussed in the interview process), the housework we agreed upon became something "she did not sign up for or too much (we did move to a bigger place but as with all moves, there is more work, if she did not want to do it, she should have vocalized it"). Maria's English is not the best either, this can be a barrier on how she understands expectations or her vocalizing what she is not comfortable with. Communicating her departure was extremely unprofessional. She did not sit us down and inform us appropriately of how she felt and made a hasty reaction, which in return (in thinking about our kids) we decided to let her go. My kids will miss her but we need someone that has better communication skills and that is willing to speak about their needs professionally.
