I took care of children off and on in my home from 1993-1998. Ages ranged from two months to five years. I worked at a summer camp in June and July of 1999 and had several young girls in my care at a residential facility each week for a total of six weeks. These girls ranged in age from 7-13. For a couple of months in college, I volunteered as a tutor for a young Hispanic girl with her math assignments at her school. I also served as an English tutor for a small group of young Hispanic children at an elementary school for a few months during college. In the summer of 2000, I instructed English, Spanish, and reading to a small group of tenth graders as an Upward Bound class at a community college. The last year or so, I have helped a friend off and on with her children. She has a 2-year-old boy, a 6-year-old boy, and 6-month-old twins, a boy and a girl. Some of the childcare I have done has been on a volunteer basis.
