I recently moved to Chicago and am currently on the job search. I'm looking for a full-time nanny position or an occasional babysitter position. I have been working with children and youth for the past 6 years. I have been a Nanny, babysitter, Camp Counselor, and have worked in both a school and hospital setting. I love being active and like playing volleyball, golf, running, and biking. In my free time I enjoy going to concerts, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I am CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certified.

I recently worked as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and a Youth Counselor on a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit. My job was to plan and lead a variety of groups such as coping skills, leisure education, exercise, and relaxation. During the spring of 2012 school year I worked as a Paraprofessional (Behavior Focused) at a middle school. It was my duty to handle behavioral problems of students ages 11 - 14, and assist the lead teacher in controlling behavioral and emotional occurrences. I left both these jobs to pursue my dreams of moving to Chicago.

In the fall of 2011 I did an internship called Camp Adventure. I worked in a Child Development Center in Key West, FL. I was placed with pretoddlers and occasionally floated to infants and toddlers. I also worked at an after school program here in Key West. I was one of six counselors who ran a structured program for 75 children ages 5 - 10 years old. In the Summer of 2010, I worked at a Youth Center in Stuttgart, Germany. I helped run a summer program for 12 - 16-year-olds which included running various clubs such as gardening, scrapbooking, and sports.

In the Fall of 2010, I worked at an after school program with 5-12-year-olds. I left this job to become a Nanny for a family in Coralville; the children were 10 and 14 years old. I picked them up from school everyday, worked on homework with the children, and drove them to various practices. I would have stayed with the family, however I had to complete a summer internship to finish my degree at Iowa. I did a Recreation Therapy internship at a hospital in the summer of 2011. I worked in Behavioral Health and programmed recreational activities for both adults and children who were inpatient. In my freshman year of college I began babysitting a girl who was 6 months at the time. She is five now and I still occasionally babysit for her and her sister.
