My name is Lydia. I have been working in childcare for six years. I was raised in a family of nine children and many cousins so I have always loved teaching and helping others. I graduated from high school in 2010 with my diploma and an Early Childhood Professional Certification. I have over 480 hours in volunteer hours working in elementary school as well as childcare centers and preschools. Since 2010 I have worked in preschools with all ages from infants to 6th grade after school care. My favorite way to teach children is through play. Children are more capable to absorb what they are learning when they enjoy what they are doing. For example, instead of drilling facts and ideas into their minds I would come up with creative fun activities that children can discover naturally what is being taught. I find most fascinating about the early childhood the amount of new things they learn and develop in such a short period of time. It is such an important time for their brain to be exposed to many different learning experiences so their brain can make the most connections.
