I'm Lu. I'm a 26-year-old, fun, caring and creative College student.
I have 5. 5+ years, paid experience with mainly just one family, but it was a full-time position, 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. My attendance was impeccable, out of the four years, I only called in 5-6 times when struck down with a pesky severe cold or most recently pneumonia.
When I started my position with the family, their little girl was merely 3 months old. She was fresh out of the hospital and due to heart conditions she needed special treatment and extra care.
My duties included:
Waking kiddo up, feeding, dressing and preparing her for the day, diaper changes, baths, meal preparations, light house cleaning and cooking for the family as well as laundry on occasions, playing and, of course, teaching while playing, reading books, arts and crafts, walks and play time at the park, I was responsible for her safety, cognitive development and early education.
During my employment with the family I also cared for her after her numerous small surgeries to correct her condition, including caring for her after her open heart surgery in 2008. I cared for her on a full-time basis until 2009 when she was finally healthy enough to start attending a preschool. I do however still occasionally do night/weekend sitting for the family.
I've also done on and off sitting for family friends, overnight sitting for a 4 and 6-year-old when their mom had to go out of town on weekends for business.
My most recent adventures were with two different families. I started in August 2012, for two boys, 3 and 8 years old. Both such lovable energetic boys. I still watch them part-time until I can find something full-time again. The mom took early retirement from work so she could spend more time with the boys, she's also going to school. We do everything from arts and crafts to playing soccer and tossing the football outside (I learned I am very bad at catch). I drove the kids to and from school and numerous activities. Soccer, swimming, Tae Kwan Do, gymnastics, appointment visits. I also help with meal preparations, bath times, homework, laundry, light grocery shopping, light errands and chores, dog walking and house/pet sitting over the holidays.
The other family is also two kids, 3 and 8 years old. A boy and a girl.
