I am a school prefect at my current boarding school in Newport, Rhode Island. A school prefect assumes the responsibility of taking charge of the dorm in terms of the safety and care of the kids in the dorm. This position ranges anywhere from checking them in at specific times, to helping them with homework, chatting with them about social, athletic, or academic concerns, as well as making sure their rooms are tidy and are working with others in a healthy environment. Most of the faculty members live on campus and have newborn babies to children under the age of 10. When needed and available I volunteer to babysit for them mostly for date night reasons.
