I am a NYS certified teacher with a Master's degree in Education. I have been working with children as a care giver and teacher for the past 6 years (aged from infancy to late teens). I also have 4 younger siblings (2, 8, 9, and 10 years younger than I) and since the age of 12 have been my mother's constant assistant, baby sitter, tutor, chef, chaperon, and chauffeur as needed. I have been a NYS licensed driver for over 10 years and am comfortable driving in city conditions. I am a native English-speaker with some knowledge of French and Spanish. I love working with children and helping them grow and develop in a positive way. I have had lots of experience working in pre-K and day care with infants and toddlers and have spend the last two years teaching High School Social Studies. I believe it is important to stimulate and encourage children's natural curiosity, independence, and respect for others through engaging activities and positive reinforcement. I think that good communication is vital to a proper nanny-parent relationship and creating a stable family life.
