I have always had a heart for children, and have been active in caring for them at my church's nursery. I am most comfortable working with children ranging from 9 months - 3 years old, but have had experience at a vacation bible school with children of 6 years old. I especially love the younger kids because everything is a learning experience. I am very chipper and talkative and will be happy to play, explore, and read to the child, but also manage to keep a firm hand when it comes to bedtimes and house rules. I make it a personal rule to not raise my voice at any one's child unless the situation calls for it (i. e. the child is throwing things at me or hitting). I believe in the time-out system and will tell the parents upon their arrival home whether or not there was difficulty. I understand the perimeters in which a young child normally acts (rambunctious, tests boundaries, etc.), but will report if I feel the child was acting out of line.
