I have had much experience in the babysitting field. I have baby-sat triplets with one of my relatives a couple years ago. I had to babysit them usually nights which required us to cook, clean, play with children, give children medicine (instructed by parents), get children cleaned up, settled down, and into bed. I babysat them for a couple of months until the mother was able to stay at home herself because of a family-owned business. I also have a little brother who is now 9 years old. I have watched and taken care of him since he was about 5 years old. He does not live with me. I have recently had to get him off the bus for his mother until an after-school program started, which was convenient for his mother considering she has to work until 5:00 p.m. When I lived with them, I had to get him ready for school, prepare his breakfast and lunch for that day, as well as put him on the bus and get him off. I also played with him after school, took him to the park to play, and prepared him a snack if he was hungry. There was also light housekeeping and laundry in both babysitting jobs. I now have a girl of my own; she is 6 months old. I absolutely love kids, so when I found out I was expecting, I was absolutely ecstatic. I love kids with all my heart. I understand that when caring for a child you need a lot of patience as well as you are expected to give lots of love and care. I believe I meet those expectations. While in high school, before I graduated, I took an early childhood class for two years. I have learned many things about children from that class that I didn't know before I took it. I believe it was very helpful.
