I have been a stay at home mom for most of the last 15 years. I have babysat or worked in classes with all different ages for most of those years, and prior to getting married in 1997, worked as the lead teacher at a daycare in the 2-3yrs class in El Paso, Texas. I had my own home daycare in Arizona from 1998-2000, and was listed with the state and received nutrition benefits for each child in my care, one of whom was a special needs infant. I had regular inspections of my home and background checks. I babysat full time for an infant for a family from 2001-2002 in California. Also in California, I cared for 4 brothers, picking up three from school everyday, and caring for the baby as well as my own son who was also a baby at the time. I have worked in the infant room and the toddler room at our church in San Diego, the kindergarten and the youth group at our church in Gilbert, Arizona, and all age groups at summer music camp at our church in El Paso, Texas. For the past 7yrs, I have home schooled my own 2 kids, who are both older now and able to do part-time schoolwork on their own, while my husband supervises from his job, in which he works from home part of the time. I love kids and am very enthusiastic about educating them from infancy up. We have lived and learned in four states; Texas, Arizona, California, and now North Carolina. I believe the experience of living in so many different areas, around different kinds of people, has made me an enthusiastic learner, therefore enabling me to pass that enthusiasm on to those I have influence on.
I attended the University of Texas at El Paso 1993-94, Texas Tech University in Lubbock 1994-96, and in 2004, I went to Grossmont Community College in San Diego and took a health and nutrition class as well as a communications class just for fun. I have been certified in CPR 2 times, once as a lifeguard, and also as a childcare provider, but I am not currently certified. I have my own car and am willing to sit at your house or mine. I am not allergic to or afraid of animals. I am hoping for part-time work, any hours, but afternoons and/or nights are preferred. Thank you!
