I am currently going to college and I am studying Early Child Education and Special Education. I then want to get my masters in Behavioral Science. My goal after that is to work with special needs children and start a summer camp for them. I am interested in how the brain works and the development of a child's brain. I have babysat in the past starting with the age of 7 months all the way up to 12-year-old's. I have changed diapers, bathed children, read to children, fed children, and played with children. I currently just got done teaching summer school and bible school to children from the ages of 5 to 12. At summer school I helped children be better readers by practicing their vocabulary and helping them read stories. I also helped them with their math skills by giving them flash cards and helping them count. I got the opportunity to help an autistic boy with his math and reading comprehension. I found this to be a very rewarding experience. In bible school I helped the children learn more about God. I also did crafts and games with them to better help them understand the lesson. I get along great with children. I am a very easy going person but know how to handle a situation when needed. I have watched up to 9 children at a time. I feel comfortable watching any child not matter what kind of special care the child needed. I grew up in a very small town that did not have a lot of job opportunities so I created a babysitting business at a young age. I babysat all the little kids in town most my summers and occasionally winters. I soon realized that working with children was my passion. I am a very compassionate person and like to help others. I think babysitting has given me good experiences that can help me grow into a better caregiver.
