I have worked for two local families on Snell Isle and I still help out with their children from time to time. The first family has a girl and boy. They were 1 and 2 years old when I started. I cared for them until they were school age. Then I did after school care.
The second family I cared for their daughter from the age 3 months to 1. 5yrs. The mother of this family decided to be an at home mom.
I encouraged the families to provide swimming lessons at an early age, now all three children are water bugs. We were always busy with age- appropriate activities--weekly trips to parks, playgrounds, museums and libraries. I worked with the children planting herb gardens, setting up bird feeders and lots of sand box fun. We took many nature walks collecting seeds, feathers, leaves and of course the boy carried lots of sticks. Indoors we cooked, cleaned, played music and danced. Lots of amazing art work to share with their parents and pretty creative cookies too. I quickly became a part of each family and I enjoyed sharing special events and holidays with them.
