I am a mother of a 20-year-old with cerebral palsy, a 13-year-old with hearing loss, a 7-year-old nephew with bipolar disorder and 3-year-old nephew with mental health issues. I have had my own in-home registered daycare, that is fully insured, and I have also worked in a daycare. I spent several years as an early interventionist working with children with special needs and disabilities (this included preemie infants). I used to work as a program manager for those with disabilities and mental health issues. I fully believe that children are individuals and unique in their own right. There is no set procedures that fit all children. One must take the time to learn a child by tapping into what makes them who they are.
