Hi there! My name is Leslie. I'm 24 years old, and I'm a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in psychology. I could tell you I love children, but obviously I do. I'm looking for a job as a babysitter, right? What will probably mean more to you as a parent is that I want to go to medical school and work toward a career in pediatric primary care.

I have quite a bit of experience for someone so young. I have always loved children and being around children, even when I was very young. I have two younger sisters who I practically raised. As a child, I started off as a mother's helper, keeping my neighbor's children occupied while she cooked, cleaned, did laundry, or just had some time to herself. As a teenager, I babysat neighborhood children, began to work in my church nursery, and I worked as a camp counselor for several summers. One year, I was a lead counselor in charge of 30 children ages 8-13! Then, in college, I was essentially an au pair, assisting a single father with day-to-day life in raising his toddler son for almost a year. I'm bright, intelligent, and most importantly, wonderful with children of all ages.
I'm currently working as a medical assistant, so I love working with people. My true passion, however, lies with working with children. As I mentioned above, I want to go to medical school to become a pediatrician, a dream I've had since I was 3 years old. Working as a medical assistant gives me an outlet for my natural compassion and desire to serve others, but at the end of the day, I would much rather work with children than with adults. Honestly, I find children much easier to work with and much simpler to relate to! Because of my job and job training, you can absolutely trust that your children are in good hands with me, should a medical situation arise; I'm CPR and first aid certified, including infant certification. I'm required to take part in annual training and re-certification in blood-borne pathogens with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and I know how to handle many different emergency situations.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you feel you'd like to talk with me more. I look forward to hearing from you! :)
