I'm the daughter of a teacher and spent my summers at camp, supervising and caring for younger students. Before long I decided I would follow in my mother's footsteps and teach. While in school I worked with special needs students and students who had behavioral problems at a Hartford elementary school. This past year I worked at the Area Health Education Center as a program coordinator for a youth program aimed at increasing volunteering and civic duty among at risk youth. I am CPR certified and first aid trained. I love working with kids of all ages and am always fascinated by the way a child thinks; everything is still possible to them.
I really enjoy working with kids because the positive interaction can mean so much to them. I've never forgotten my kindergarten teacher or the impression she made on me.
I hope to accomplish that same thing with the students/children I get the opportunities to work with.
