I have much experience caring for children of all ages, whether as a babysitter, a teacher, a counselor or simply a volunteer at community and church functions. I began volunteering with children's classes at my church since the age of 11, helping to care for, to play with and to teach children ranging from ages 2-5. Since the age of 13, I have been involved with children's activities at my church's summer program, providing snacks for children, leading games and being involved in puppet shows. I began babysitting for pay at the age of 14 for a boy around the age of 8. I made dinner for him, played board games with him, and entertained him until bed time. I babysat him for about two years. I also have babysat a child with Down Syndrome who was around the age of 10 along with his 5-year-old brother. This past summer I worked as a counselor at a camp for ages ranging from 8-16, leading small groups, doing outdoor activities with them such as hiking, camping, games, and swimming, leading programs and events, and caring for them on a weekly basis. I also assisted them in cooking their dinner on camp outs.
