Hello, my name is Leilani. I have worked with children for over 15 years, including newborns up to 12 yrs. old. I began sitting for children at the age of 13 and continued my work with children by teaching in child development for almost 10 years. In that time I attended college to obtain my (CDA) Child Development Associate Credential. I am also very familiar with potty training.
Oct. 08-Nov. 09 I was a nanny to a wonderful family, with two boys 11 months and 6 yrs. We enjoyed going to the park, playing ball, swimming lessons & going to the water park. We went on nature walks & enjoyed spending time together. We liked reading books & playing board games. Building a great relationship with the children & there parents is very important to me.
Some of my other responsibilities included, housekeeping, such as making the beds, laundry, cleaning the kitchen, loading and unloading the dishwasher. I would sweep & vacuum once or twice a week and I always kept the house picked up. I also helped to take care of the family dog, by making sure she had water, was fed, taken outside, & given some attention. Although I no longer nanny for this family, we stay in touch & on occasion I still babysit for them.
My most current nanny position was for two boys, 3 years old and 7 months old. The 3 yr old & I stayed very busy going to karate, the park, swimming, & potty training. The 7 month old & I enjoyed working on his large motor skills & participating in activities that help with the developing of his senses, such as music time, dance time, clapping, etc., activities that will help him to accomplish his next milestones. I am not afraid to get down on the floor be a part of his world. I believe this to be essential to his development.
They are a precious family & I love them, as they have become a part of my family, but this month, May 2012 they had to move to far away. I will miss seeing them everyday, but we will and have continued to stay in touch.
I am a honest, loving, nurturing, reliable non-smoking individual. I enjoy children & work well with them, (this is the gift that God has given me). I am animal friendly, & I have my own transportation.
Some of my interests include reading, swimming, playing ball, etc. Thank you very much.
