I have much experience with children. During my high school years, I worked as a lifeguard and also, babysat for families around my hometown. I have kept children ranging in ages from a few months old to 12+ years. During my sophomore year of high school, I worked part-time at a local daycare caring for children from 2 months old to 2 years old. I cared for 2 family members while in high school, who at the beginning were ages 5 and 1, a boy and girl. I kept them periodically throughout these 4 years. During my senior year of college, I worked as a teacher's assistant at a daycare on campus 3 days a week. I cared for children ages 1-2 and sometimes 3-4. My daily duties were to engage the children in creative/active play and craft projects that were age-appropriate. We served them breakfast, lunch and a snack. The children were required to feed themselves, but we offered help when needed. Working on ABC's, colors and basic knowledge for 1-2-year-olds was also part of my duties. Also, during my senior year, I babysat for a family that was enrolled at the daycare. The children were ages 6, 3 and 2; 2 boys and a girl. I was responsible for picking them up from the daycare or leaving the daycare with them, depending on which days I worked. I would help with homework, prepare dinner, give baths, put to bed and any other duties left by the parents.

My mother has been an early childhood educator for 25 years. I have assisted her in various school activities. Caring for children was presented to me at an early age.
