I began babysitting for family friends and neighbors a couple years ago, and started to love working with kids. That experience influenced me to begin volunteering with children throughout high school. I then began babysitting infants and young toddlers for two hours each week through the volunteer program at my school. More recently, I volunteered in the Pediatric inpatient and outpatient units at a Medical Center where I went around to patients' rooms and kept them company if their parents were not there or if their parents wanted some one to watch them. I was also responsible for watching the playroom in the unit and the children using it. In addition, I was also a soccer referee for four years at a local elementary school.
