I am 24 years old and I thoroughly enjoy caring for children. This past year I decided to nanny as my full time occupation. Although my degree is in Business Management and I plan on using it to open my own business way down the road, my heart is with children. This past year I kept 4 children ages from 3-14. My responsibilities included cooking, light cleaning, tutoring, potty training, transportation, bathing, and providing emotional support for the kids while their mother was at work. In addition to this I have done camp counseling, taught motivational classes to children and also have taught private art for the past 9 years to children of all ages. Before I decided to major in business I was going in to secondary education where I took several child development classes that helped my understanding of how to more appropriately deal with children. I have also had experience with babies but not on a regular basis for several years now. In my early high school years I cared for 2 boys: 11 months and 2 years old, twice a week for 9 hours/day. My most recent experience with babies has been with my niece, may I add, whom I adore. I care for her for a day or two at a time when my brother will part with her. I have had to deal with all kinds of different ailments/conditions such as asthma, breathing treatments, ADHD, learning impaired, speech disorders, and deafness. Although I am not CPR certified my husband is a nurse and he keeps me up to date with all the proper procedures and treatments for kids. In addition I am fluent in ESL (exact sign language) which I enjoy teaching to children either way. They enjoy it as well. I am a honest, friendly, compassionate, and fun young woman. I have a clean record and I am more than willing to have you look in to my past to tell my character. References are not a problem. I do realize that being a nanny is not technically putting to use my BS in management but I find nothing more rewarding in life than to watch a child learn and grow. You'd also be surprised to see how much management skills you need to have when dealing with children.
