I am a current mental health professional and graduate student. I have a great education in child development, reflected in my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my pursuit of a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies. Professionally, I have worked with children and adolescents in many facets of the mental health field. I have worked in mental health since 2006, with approximately five years of combined internship, active research, and employment experiences being with children and adolescents. Recently, I have worked as an intensive in-home counselor, providing one-on-one care in the families home and in the community setting for children and adolescents. I have provided childcare professionally while in college as needed by fellow students. I worked with an Autistic 6 year old child as an ABA therapist in his home as well. I am enthusiastic and love caring for children. I believe that the childcare experience should be active and educational; passive observation is never acceptable. I provide fun-filled activities but also needed tasks, such as meal prep, bed-time and homework assistance.
