I am the oldest of six, and being raised by a young, single mother, put me in a position of having to help take care of children whether I liked it or not. Luckily, for both of us, I've always enjoyed it. By the end of first grade, I had decided I would become a kindergarten teacher, all because I loved being around, and helping kids, so much. I started babysitting for other families when I was 12 and have continued watching children until they were old enough to watch themselves. I have watched and taken care of children ages ranging from 8 months to 13 years old. This past Summer, I was a part-time nanny for 5 kids, ranging in age from 7 to 12. The parents didn't need a nanny for the school year, but I still continue to babysit all 5. Also, I have never once had a problem with the parents of children I have watched. :)
