I began college with the intention of becoming an elementary school teacher, and learned a lot from spending time with children at local schools where I aided teachers in preparing lesson plans and with managing the students and the classroom in general. Sometimes, I would give a small lesson and I really enjoyed it, although I decided to change my teaching path to a single subject plan so I am now studying as an English major, with the possibility of teaching middle or high school. Along with watching children in the classroom, I began working for a family with three young girls ages 3, 6, and 8 and watched them grow over the period of two years. I recently transferred schools and had to leave them behind. I prepared meals, read stories and put them to bed some nights, bathed, helped with homework, made crafts, took them to the park and played outdoors. This family also referred me to a family with 2 boys ages 3 and 7, who I also performed the same tasks. The parents of this family would also have other kids over for playmates with their own children at times so I have experience watching 4 or more children at a time. I have also watched babies 12 months and older. I truly enjoy kids and have so much fun with them. I am responsible and punctual.
