I am currently in the process of obtaining the 90 hour childcare certification through the TEACH Institute at Anne Arundel Community College. (Completion date of September 2012). I am CPR certified. Although I have not yet had the opportunity to work in a daycare environment on a professional level, I have had the honor of volunteering at a shelter as a Mother's Helper. I have kept children that fall between the ages 1 through 10. I love to teach through songs and play and children tend to react positively to me very quickly. I am serious about making childcare a long term career and am particularly interested in working with children with special needs or disabilities (even though that is not a requirement). My ideal situation would be to be able to work with children while I am completing the certification and then begin working toward my degree in Elementary Special Education.
