Hey guys! My name is Kyra. I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University, a Lutheran College in Hickory, North Carolina, in May of 2010. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, and am certified to teach PreK-6th in South Carolina.

I worked at St. Stephens Lutheran School as the After School Supervisor from 2007-2010. I also worked in the school's summer camp as a camp consular. Through the after school program I got to work with children ranging from 5-13 years old. I helped with homework, played games like kick ball, wall ball, card and board games. I got them ready for extra curricular activities, and lent an ear, or a shoulder to any who needed it. I worked in both the "big kids" summer camp, and the preschool summer camp (ages 3-5), where we took the children on field trips, played games, did arts and crafts, and had a blast!

Shortly after graduating, they offered me a job as their second grade teacher. I accepted, and LOVED it! I have such a passion for teaching. I love children and their ability to imagine, learn, and create. I am a very positive person, and try to model that for the children. I think that it is important to go into things with a good attitude, and strive to lead by example in every way that I can.

I moved to Bluffton about a month ago, after my fiance got a job in the area. I am fun, creative, and full of energy, and a child at heart! Some of my former co-workers use laugh, saying that I am a great teacher because I "really relate to children"and usually they say this while I'm playing Pokemon or singing with the kids! :)
