I have been employed as a teacher at the Academy of Early Childhood Learning in Columbia, MO since Sept. 2010. As a floating teacher I have had the opportunity to work with each age group at the school, 6-week-olds-12 years. Prior to this I spent each summer vacation as a drama camp instructor (or assistant, in earlier years)from 2003-2010. I worked with preschoolers through high schoolers, primarily directing a play, but otherwise having the children for 7 hours a day for two weeks/session. I have my associates degree from Daytona State College, Daytona beach, FL, including 5 early childhood credits (transcripts available upon request).
I love children. I have thoroughly enjoyed this past year with my preschool kiddos, but my husband and I are moving to Boonville from Columbia into a historic home we are renovating and intend to fill with a brood of our own one day, so I would love to find some work in town.
I feel it's only fair to mention that I am in the earliest stages of starting my own business, a children's theatre, so I cannot guarantee an indefinite availability, but I am certainly in a position to be flexible schedule-wise, and should I need to terminate my employment in favor of my business, I would give my employer ample time to replace me before leaving.
