I am not only a babysitter, but also a nanny or childcare provider; however, at this time my available hours are more appropriate for a babysitter job. I am a senior at CSU Monterey Bay with a major in Psychology and a minor in Child Development. My greatest passion is working with children. I make dinners, do dishes, fold laundry, and also watch the kids, playing with them and keeping them safe. I also aided in helping with homework and homeschooling. Most summers I work at Extended Student Services as an aide and we had about 40 to 60 kids a day and I was responsible for about 7 at a time. I prepared snack, led games and crafts, did reading time and helped them with their homework, cleaned, did dishes, and ensured the kids' safety. This summer, however, I am staying in Monterey looking for something full-time. Also, I have volunteered at Star Riders, a non-profit organization where handicapped people can ride horses. It was for people of all ages with any handicap, but the main groups were kids with mental handicaps. I love the feeling of making a difference in a child's life. Each child I have ever worked with has made a difference in my life. I could not imagine my life before working with children and being around their smiling faces.
