I am now 19 and have been babysitting since I was 12. I started with the only family who had kids in our neighborhood. Having had some practice with my baby brother prior to my first real experience, I already knew how to cook some basic dishes and change a diaper at my age. Six months later a family with three young kids moved right next door and I started sitting for them many weekends. I love going to be with the kids; they brighten up my day. A lot of times if a sitting opportunity arises but I have something else planned, I just rearrange my schedule so that I can make both work or at least so that I can babysit. Again, 6 months following, 2 more kids moved into the neighborhood. I started watching after them too. Two more kids moved next door to them a year after and sometimes I would watch just them or I would watch the four together. Then there were the times when all the parents of all seven kids would go out and I would watch them all together at one of their houses. Ive slept over at their houses too when the parents had an anniversary, say, and wanted to get out for a weekend. A bit later I started sitting for a 4 young kids and I did so almost every day. I love them though.
