I have been a nanny for a few families for the past seven years. I am used to watching between 3 and 6 children at a time, from ages 1-14. I am looking for a summer job, as my younger sister has taken over (while I was away at college) with my usual summer family. I am fun, engaging, and truly care for the children I work with. I am reliable, patient, trustworthy, appropriately silly, nurturing, and responsible. I am happy to provide references!
I began sitting for my first family when their oldest was 6. He is now almost 14 and his siblings are 12, 11, and 7. My responsibilities would include taking them to various activities and camps, from sailing to soccer, to horseback riding. I would often also take care of their friends in addition. I own a car and have a pristine driving record. I am currently babysitting a 2-year-old on occasion, so I have recent experience with not only older/elementary kids, but also early childhood.
I prepare meals, do laundry, run errands, walk dogs, organize, mobilize, and transport the group for activities, and keep the house neat (with the help of the kids). My goal is to always keep the children I care for safe, happy, and having fun, while teaching them responsibility, manners, and self-advocacy.
I currently work as a special education teaching assistant (to end in June), so I can provide tutoring and homework help. I also coach soccer for "tots", ages 4-8, in groups up to 28, so I am active myself and comfortable with active children. I have college coursework in nutrition and physical education as well, since I am taking prerequisite classes to become a nurse practitioner. I am also certified in injury prevention, CPR/AED, and first aid for children and adults by the American Red Cross.
When school lets out in June, I am available during the week, as I generally go to Maine on the weekends. Past summers I worked Monday-Thursday, 8-6 (with some late nights), at a rate of $15/hr, but I am willing to negotiate. I am also available for overnights, as needed.
Overall, I will strive to make a lasting connection with you and your children and be a positive role model.
