I have cared for children ranging in age from newborn to preteen over the past 15 years, throughout my time in high school, college, and most recently as a support system to my family and friends' growing families. During a college internship I worked with both elementary and secondary school aged children at a W. based organic dairy farm in upstate NY. Teaching children about sustainable agriculture, I helped them develop a love for the planet, animals, as well as allowing them the experience of understanding where their food comes from through farm based activities. Therefore, I enjoy teaching children to be healthy individuals and how they themselves may contribute to a healthy planet as well. I am passionate about child care as I enjoy sharing in the beauty of both the mental and emotional growth of children, and thus intend to act as a positive and nurturing influence/role model as they to evolve from child to young adult. As such, I am extremely attentive to detail, am a multi-tasker, and appreciate routine. I believe in discipline and fun as one unit, and believe this can be accomplished through earned respect for both the children and the caregiver. Also, I appreciate the role of the nanny within the family autonomy and hope that I may find a family who shares the same values that I do. Additionally, I am CPR/First Aid certified.
