I am a nanny for a lovely family of three (ages 5, 8 and 10) whose 10-year-old son has special needs and I have worked for them for over a year. They are going to be on vacation, making me available, on the following dates: June 8-June 16 and August 9-August 18th. I am seeking employment during those periods. I am also likely going to be available in the mornings from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. M-F.

I am a mother of five children, boys and girls ages 15 to 22, all great kids. Four are in college now. I'm loving, fun, outgoing and consistent with applying your house rules. For example, if your rules state kids are to assist with cleaning up their rooms, then I will engage them in a fun way to make that happen. I believe in choosing the right battles to "win the war" overall; in other words, you don't need to have a child do everything correctly, but I do explain why something needs to be done. It takes longer to gain disciplined children this way, but from my own experience, it sure does work. I have straight A students with high moral integrity, generous of heart and strong of spirit from taking the time to explain why something needs to be done instead of forcing them without reason. Using love and patience, understanding and empathy and knowledge of the phase a child is in all will work together to create a wonderful child with self-control and understanding for others. My oldest son attends MIT, two are at Occidental in LA and my oldest daughter attends UC Davis. All are studying sciences like computer science, biochemistry and economics-mathematics.

I've volunteered to work in a preschool and in two local elementary schools, and taken the "difficult children" on field trips regularly because I can manage them well while my children were young. I am playful, love to sing silly songs to teach things, goofy and energetic. I am particularly great with boys, having three sons of my own.

I am also a great family/mother's advocate who can listen to the concerns a new mother may have and offer guidance if it's wanted. No unwanted/unasked for advice from this mother.

My philosophy is this is your child, your rules, and your parenting style, and it's my job to match them to the best of my ability.

I have a B. S. in Computer Systems Engineering and speak some Spanish. English is my first language.
