I want to express my interest in babysitting/becoming a nanny for your family. I am currently pursuing a teaching credential, and would like to find part-time (10-20 hours weekly), either scheduled or on-call childcare jobs.

I began my work with children when I was a teenager, and created many lasting relationships with the families I worked with. During college, I financed my undergrad education while working as a paraprofessional in special needs classrooms. This led to a K-12 substitute position for the San Francisco Unified School District. My years of experience in SFUSD provided me great patience and understanding for families and students. It gave me an opportunity to teach lessons in all subject areas, as well as accompany classes on field trips--including a three over-night trip snow trip to the Sierras. While I was subbing, I also worked part-time for a nonprofit after school program that provided tutoring and extracurricular opportunities for under served youth.

Personally, my style of babysitting is based on the foundation of trust, communication, respect, and exciting activities. I do not encourage children to sit in front of screens, but instead to take in the outdoors. In addition, I have found children love cooking activities, music and reading--all of which happen to be things I am passionate about!

In closing I have a clean driving record, strong references, negative TB test, and can supply a recent Live Scan (background check) report. I would love to be a part of a family looking for a sitter who is more than just hired help.
