I am currently a kindergarten teacher at a local private school, and I am looking for a family to work full time for in the summer months. I love going outside and playing with the kids, whether it is a bit of soccer, pushing them on the swings at the park, or just taking a nice walk. Going to local places of interest like Hillside Farms, the Lackawanna Coal Tour, and even Claws and Paws are all mini-trips I'd be happy to take. If the weather isn't so great, having a lazy day with popcorn and a movie is fine sometimes, but there are so many more things to do inside. Scavenger hunts, blanket forts, imaginative play, board games, and arts and crafts are all fun inside activities! I would love to have a reading time daily, which, depending on the age(s) of kids could be independent or read-aloud. I also love to cook, so not only would I not mind fixing lunch everyday, I would also love to get the kids involved if they are interested.

I love all animals, so animals in the house aren't a concern. I also love music and tend to sing A LOT. My kindergarteners always love when I take songs they know and intersperse their names or what they are doing into the song.

About my experience, I've been babysitting since I was 13. In college, a few professors actually had me watching their kids. I also was the "child wrangler" at the my school's professional theatre. This meant I was responsible for all of the child actors (during one run, up to 45 children at one time and just me) before and during the show. After graduation, I worked as a children's advocate at the Domestic Violence Service Center and as Therapeutic Staff Support for an autistic child. Now I'm working as a kindergarten teacher, and working towards a master's in child psychology. My future plans are to be a licensed child psychologist.

A few last things you should know:
-I am a nonsmoker, and because I have mild asthma, I can not come to a house with smoke.
-I have my own transportation, and do not mind taking the kids places in my own car.
-I am perfectly happy in either your home or my own. We (my husband and I) have two cats (I say this in case of allergies) but have a good sized yard, are on a cul de sac in a quiet neighborhood, and are walking distance from a lovely park and public pool.
