My experience caring for children started in high school when I began babysitting my neighbor's four children. At the time, they were between the ages of 4 and 9. I watched the children after school during the school year and full time during the summer. I was able to watch them for about three and a half years, until I left for college. We did fun activities, art, reading, games, swimming and also worked on homework together. Additionally, I did food preparation and some cleaning and laundry.

During college, I babysat off and on in short-term situations. When I came home for winter break last year, I babysat two children (1.5 and 4 years) for my Christmas holiday, which was about a month. I babysat them again this May (full time) after I graduated. Unfortunately, in September they moved out of the area.

Additionally, I occasionally babysit a 6-month-old. I go care for her while her mom does chores or runs errands. I absolutely adore her and have been watching her since she was a week old (she's my niece).

I am CPR certified for infants, children and adults. Also, I have some emergency medical technician training. My vehicle is safe and reliable (2007 Honda CR-V) and I have a clean driving record (although I am not interested in a position in which I need to drive with children in my vehicle), as well as a clean background check.

I currently am preparing to enroll in a program at Sacramento State for criminal and intelligence analysis. The program is structured so that there are nine classes that need to be completed within a year and every class is only two or three full days long total (usually Friday, Saturday, Sunday). However, the majority of the program is an extensive internship (400 hours). I can easily schedule my internship around work hours, as most of the students in the program are working, too. So I essentially have open availability.
