I've grown-up doing random babysitting gigs. This last winter, I spent about two months in Cambodia and Thailand with an organization called Youth With a Mission (YWAM). In Cambodia, I got to teach English to children in villages; Play and take care of babies to toddlers of ex-prostitutes; and play games and hang out with orphans. Before I left for Southeast Asia, I was in Hawaii for two and a half months. While in Honolulu, I watched a little 2-year-old Filipino boy. We would hang out at his house watching movies or cleaning out his fish bowl or making a gingerbread house. Other times we would go to the local community center and play on the big toy and go swimming.
I hope that one day I'll be a mom myself to interaction with children will only help me better for that job. My heart is very much so for orphans (particularly in Romania and the rest of Eastern Europe).
