From 2007 to 2009 I worked at Little People's World Daycare in Missoula, MT. I provided care for a range of children from infants to middle schoolers. I was responsible for preparing meals, crafts, indoor/outdoor activities, cleaning, changing diapers and caring for the well-being of each child. Currently, I nanny for a family in Woodinville, WA. I care for an 8-month-old little boy and have been watching him for four months now. As a provider for children, my job is very important. Not only am I responsible for making sure each child's basic needs are met and that they are happy, but I am also responsible for their safety. Interaction with children is a very important part of a child's learning process. They pick up on even the smallest things, like how someone reacts to a stressful situation. It is important to remember that you are there for the child and not to react in a negative or hurtful way. Providing for children isn't always easy, but the joy that it produces is unlike any other.
