I am currently a recent Notre Dame graduate and a first year graduate student at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. I one day hope to work with and counsel children and adolescents in a child welfare or family services setting.

I have 8 years experience of being a caregiver. I have babysat younger siblings (my youngest sister is 8 years old now), cousins, as well as neighborhood children. I am comfortable with all ages and up to four children. As an undergraduate, I worked with a 9-year-old child in the foster care system as a mentor and also volunteered at the juvenile justice center as part of Take 10, a program designed to teach young people how to avoid violence and successfully resolve conflicts. This past summer, I worked as an Inclusion Aide with NWSRA, working with children with disabilities such as Autism, ADHD, and Down Syndrome to successfully involve them in a mainstream camp environment.

I am very comfortable working with pets as well, as I have two dogs at home (one who is extremely high-energy!). I am proficient in Spanish due to my supplementary Spanish major at Notre Dame. I love working with kids and playing games with them, especially when it comes to make believe and outdoor activities. I think it is very important for children to use their imagination to have a good time rather than just always watching television or playing on the computer.
