My current job is in a detention/education/therapy facility for teen girls in trouble with the courts and who have a mental illness. For this position I had to not only pass a regular background check but also a central registry check (for child abuse).

I was working on my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education when my father-in-law was diagnosed with brain cancer and we had to move back to Tuscaloosa County so my husband could help care for him. I had finished the first year of a two-year program.

I worked as a nanny/babysitter as a teenager for two professional families that shared my services. I switched houses weekly but watched all 4 children (each family had a 6-month-old baby and a 2-year-old).

I was a stay-at-home mom to my children when they were growing up. We had one child with special needs (Type I diabetes, and brain issues).

I have often been the go-to family member for babysitting all my nieces and nephews (I have over 20 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews).
