A majority of my experience with children has been babysitting. I have been a babysitter since I was approximately 15 years old. I have watched children from ages ranging from 4 months old to 13 years old. I feel very comfortable watching kids from a wide range of ages because I have had a lot of experience with kids growing up. I have babysat for families who go out occasionally on the weekend and I have also babysat for families on a weekly basis. I have also had experience working with children outside of babysitting. My mom is a third grade teacher at an elementary school and I have gone into her classroom numerous times to help out and work with her students. I have also volunteered at local elementary schools to help out with carnivals and other school sanctioned events. Last semester, I was a mentor to an at risk youth through a program offered at CSU called Campus Corps. I met with my mentee once a week for four hours. During this time, I worked with my mentee on school work, relationship building and served as a positive role model. I am a sophomore at CSU and I am very interested in pursuing a career with kids especially in the heath profession field. My major is Human Development and Family Studies. This past spring break, I went on an Alternative Spring Break with nine other students to Memphis TN to volunteer at a hospital. Volunteering in a children's hospital re-affirmed that my future career path will include working with children. This summer, I worked for a family that I met on Care.com and I watched their 4-month-old daughter two to three times each week. I am a responsible, caring, energetic college student looking for a family that needs a part-time nanny for the school year.
