I have been babysitting since I was 13 years old for various age children. I have babysat for children as young as 4 months old and as old as 11. I worked as the primary babysitter for a family for five years, until they moved out of state. I'm starting my final year in college in the fall studying Elementary Education, so I have experience with children as far as teaching and tutoring goes as well. I love working with children, not just supervising them. The family that I was the primary babysitter for has four children. I was the only babysitter for the youngest two, as I met the family about a month after the third child had been born.

I really enjoy being a babysitter because I get to play a part in the children's lives and it reminds me that I know I want to be a teacher. There is something wonderful about every age that a child reaches. I've really enjoyed the different experiences of working for families with different aged children. I also like doing things with them that go with their interests. For example, with the main family I babysat for, I ended up going to many of the theatrical productions that the oldest child was a part of and helping her get ready for dance classes, rehearsals, etc. I enjoy helping the families get everything squared away and being someone that parents can trust with their children. I think that's a huge thing to be given, and I value that trust and respect more than anything.

I have worked in classrooms with kindergarteners and second graders, as well as worked individually with a special needs student. I have done pool days, but I am not a certified life guard.
