I have been babysitting off-and-on since I was 15-years-old. I also spent two summers at a YWCA summer camp. When I first started, it was for a family with two great kids, a 3-year-old and a 7-year-old. I spent an entire summer with them, 5 days a week, while their parents worked. The family moved to Florida 6 months later. It was tough because I had formed such a great bond with their children. I still think about them and miss them to this day. My mother has been a preschool teacher for 15 years now, and has taught me a lot about children and the best way to be a great sitter and role model. Sometimes, when I have time off from school, I'll go to her class for a few hours to spend time with the children, read, and play games with them. For the last year I have been helping my boyfriend's mother take care of her 4-year-old niece. She always keeps me smiling and laughing. In September she will start kindergarten. Time has flown by. I really enjoy helping her with her numbers and letters to prepare for school. Currently, I'm going to college to become a middle school English teacher.
