Any mother (or parent) who has gone on a family vacation knows that there are times where they feel it would have been easier to have stayed home, especially when there is a toddler involved. Katie babysat for me on two occasions while we were on vacation in LA. She was the oasis in the desert for us. The first time was in the evening; my husband and I left her with the kids (4 - ages 10, 8, 6 and 2) to go see a show and dinner. First of all, she was ON TIME; she swooped in and made dinner (mac and cheese), had the kids eating dinner at the table all while I was getting ready. We randomly decided to eat dinner with our friends and she was so cool about the fact that we were going to be late. When we came home, the kitchen was cleaned up, the kids were all in bed AND sleeping - even our two year old! The second day, she met up with us at Santa Monica Pier and watched the kids while they enjoyed the rides on the promenade. My kids told me that my two year old threw a huge tantrum and Katie handled it with ease. She is responsible, very professional, the kids liked her, a great communicator and super helpful and adjusting. Anyone who can handle my two year old's tantrum - in public - without making that desperate phone call for the parents to come get him, deserves ten stars in my book! She was great and I would recommend her beyond any doubt.
