The mother and children were sick with a stomach virus along with their "au pair" the two days that I trained. By the time my shift rolled around on the weekend, I had the virus. Of course I could not work. My doctor's nurse signed an excuse for me, I picked it up and I gave it to the parents. The children are 3-year-old twins and a 4-year-old. I was spit on, kicked, slapped, and cussed with words that no child that age should even know. These children were uncontrollable and could not be disciplined. Any discipline I tried to implement was torn down by the father. I have worked for many families over the past couple of years and kept multiple children of different ages. I have never seen such spoiled misbehaved children. I am a 21-year-old nursing student. I love children and enjoy working as a nanny. I deserve to be treated by respect by the children I care for and also their parents. I refuse to work under the conditions in this family's home. I had not signed a contract with this family and was under no obligation to give a notice. P. S. Cara, Meghan will be happy to verify my doctor's excuse. Non-emergency calls are not routinely put through to her but if your "lead nanny" wants to ask for her specifically she will take your call.
