I've been babysitting for kids of all ages since 1994, and I worked in child care centers from 1997-2009. My last daycare job involved working with 2 to 3-year-olds, and I feel that my biggest strength is with children from birth through age 3. Since then I've been nannying (about 2 1/2 years now). I've worked with special needs, including Autism and Down syndrome. I don't mind kids' messes (I put fun first, while staying within house rules), but I respect parents' wishes for this as well, and do try to clean up what I can, especially while kids are sleeping. My normal babysitting rates begin at $15 per hour for the first child, and $1 per hour per additional child. I do have a minimum of three hours, unless you live extremely close (within two to three miles or 10 to 15 minutes). My full-time rates are slightly higher (pre-tax), since that's what I need to live on! I'm currently nannying full-time so I'm just looking for additional babysitting hours weekends and evenings.
