I am a fun-loving, trustworthy, flexible, calm and creative person looking for a nanny position with a wonderful family. I have over 13 years of nanny experience with 4 families. I have worked for a nanny agency for over 10 years. I have been a child care giver in my home or a nanny in the homes of others on and off for the past 25 years. I also worked in our church nursery for 4 years. My last position was with a wonderful family for over 8 years. I have worked with a parent at home with two of my nanny positions. I am looking for a position with a 25 to 30 hour work week.
I am the oldest of four siblings. My family employed a nanny for seven years when I was a child with whom I remained close through adulthood. I attended the University of Kansas as a liberal arts student for 2 years pursuing a teaching career. I volunteered at an orphanage in Thailand for 2 weeks in 2008 and 2009. I enjoy, reading, painting, walking my dog, knitting, arts, crafts, riding elephants cooking, museums, and the theater.
I have always loved and enjoyed children since I was a little girl, I love babies and all ages. I love the children I am with and enjoy child centered outdoor and indoor play, arts, crafts, teaching, reading, and outings. I want to provide a safe, nurturing, loving environment for your children while you are there or away. I engage the children in creative, caring, playful, and thoughtful manner. My desire to be with children comes from a deep respect for them and the belief that children are people who should be treated as individuals as they are introduced to the beauty and many wonders of our world. My child care philosophy is "child-centered ". I think it is very important to be respectful of children and to always be loving, patient, and kind, but firm. I have found that focused attention, loving eye contact, and firm boundaries develop a healthy environment for the children. A baby needs to be picked up, talked to, and loved. This is the beginning of their experience in life. Genuine, heartfelt praise builds a child's self-esteem.
