The children I have cared for in the past have been ages 1 to 14. Some of the children I have babysat have had anxiety and behavioral problems, and one who was severely mentally challenged. My mom is an elementary school teacher, and I have helped in her classroom since the time I was in 6th grade. In high school, I took a teaching class in which I worked with cognitively impaired students once a week. I was also a nanny, over the summer, for a family with three girls (ages 8, 11 and 12). My tasks included getting them up in the morning, feeding them, cleaning up after them, taking them to appointments and keeping them active. There were many times they had friends over or brought friends along on things we did, in which case I was responsible for multiple children. There were also times where both parents were out of town, and I was responsible for the girls overnight, sometimes for the entire weekend.
