I am a LeTourneau University graduate. I have my Degree in Biblical Studies. I've been working with children for 10 years. My experience began with babysitting for local families and working in my church's children's nursery. Working as a church nursery volunteer provided me with ample opportunity to exercise management of several children at once while also helping me to recognize the different learning and care needs that different children have. I appreciate and value this experience as it challenged me to detect what each child needed, while also overseeing and meeting the needs of the other children simultaneously.
I took a Babysitter's Preparation Course at age 12 which trained me in First Aid and Health Care procedures (such as the Heimlich Maneuver, Infant and Children's CPR, etc.) My babysitting experience provided multiple opportunities for working with several children at once or just one child at a time. I've cared for children ranging from newborns to 15 years old. All through High School, I worked with my church's VBS Program. I worked for three years as a helper for various ages (K-4th Grade). My Senior year of High School, I worked as the leader/teacher for the Pre-K children. This experience lent itself to further learning about how to interact with young children practically (crowd control) while also caring for each one individually and wanting to help them grow. During College I continued to work in the church nursery and continued babysitting. One summer I worked as a Camp Counselor for LeTourneau University Summer Academic Day Camps for children. As a Camp Counselor I oversaw children of various age groups.
I have such a heart for caring for children. I've worked with them most of my life and I enjoy getting to help them learn and grow. Please know that you have a reliable and qualified care provider in me.
More recently, I have just completed nearly a year long job experience being a nanny full-time for a baby boy. That experience provided me with even more opportunities and situations to learn and grow as a professional caregiver. As he grew from a tiny baby to a toddler I learned firsthand how to aid and promote his motor skills and overall development. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to help him learn to eat solids, roll over, crawl, walk, and talk. I look forward to more similar opportunities in the future and will seek to approach your children with the same motivation to help them grow, develop, and learn.
